Need more info. Hotpoint have made many different types. I assume the main drum belt is broken. Most common solution
Remove PLUG Disconnect from mains !!!!!!!!
Remove back from machine. I find it easier to tip machine on its front (0n some softening)
Remove rear volute assy (You should be able to leave the drum in situ.) De-fluff the entire machine to prevent future fires.
Place new belt around drum. (May be helpful to stick in place as temp measure. as it may slip forward).
Replace volute assy.
Return machine to upright position.
The difficult bit is to work out how the belt fits through the idler pulleys (Need model or reversing info)
Typically Hotpoint TD's have a pressurised cabinet so don’t allow the heater to come on with top or back removed.
