Mend Siemens S6R28S

My Siemems D/Washer S6R28S?

Not sure if that is the model number. It's built in 3 programs on a clockwork timer. About 10+ years old. I think there's a problem with the float mechanism as it doesn't start after filling, it just seems to overflow. If I advance the program switch it starts but stops next time it fills with water. I can't locate the the float inside the M/C so I presume it's external?
