Mend Citroen C5 Immobiliser Battery

How to fix "engine immobiliser fault"?

My C5 On board computer has brought up a message" engine immobiliser faulty" I had to charge the battery overnight and it maybe that I disconnected something.The manual gives no information as to whether its possible to fix this myself or if it has to be done by a Citroen dealer.
Help please

message is displayed when the immobiliser does not recognise the key normally occures after battery disconnection to reinitalise simply switch on ignition without starting engine and leave for at least 2 minutes
