Mend Renault Megane 1.4 Petrol Replace Pump

aircon for renault megane 1.4 petrol 2001?

i need to replace the pump as it is buggered...
but after getting a new pump they supplier told me it is vital i change the receiver/drier unit also...

is this necessary or not???
