Diplomat dishwasher temperature failure?

I have a Diplomat dishwasher which is not working properly. I think it is not heating the water properly, as even the dishwasher cleaner wax does not melt when I run it on the hottest cycle. Before I call a technician out, please give me your advice on what I can do to fix the problem.
