you shouldnt have to cut anything,is it the trim along the windscreen that is stopping it?8mm bolt in corner at bonnet hinge,remove plastic strip covering battery leads just left of battery and gently prise off cover,no need to remove totally just lift up 6 inches and lift out battery,refit in reverse
