Why has the red light by the draw string gone out?

Recently the shower would not switch on until I flicked the house electricity off & on a couple of times. This worked ok on several occasions, until,one morning the shower would not come on, whatever I did. The red light on the draw switch was always off when the shower would not function. Might the problem be in the ceiling box from which the draw string hangs ?
if its the circuit breaker your switching on/off in your 'fuse box' then i suspect its detected a problem with your shower unit. the fact that the red light is off may be because the circuit breaker has operated? then no electricity supply to the switch. the ceiling switch may be just a sympton and not the cause. i would ask a electrician to visit and check.
