That's good advice - but hard when the mag is under the flywheel.......
Sort of trial and error - engines built like this are so old, that usually the mag stator plate has witness marks where the old bolts were tightened down. Use these as a guide - it'll be close enough. If it's a new mag, trial and error involving getting it as close as possible, trial fit the flywheel and check it rotates - adjust - repeat until it hits the flywheel, then back it off 'a bit'. It's NOT that critical.
