Mend Pull Start Engine

How can i fix the pull start on my small engine?

i repaired my small engines pull start and it would pull but not recoil nor start. Im going to buy a new string and i recently read that before you attatch the string to the pull start you have to wind it up so when you let it snaps back into place.... I have no clue, someone please haelp

all you have to do is allow the center winder to wind out ward as if you where pulling it insert your rope and tie it then let the winder recoil it up nice and slow that should be it if its like a honda engine im not positive what kind you have if you have any problems feel free to contact me at chevy4906@aol.com
