replace a new door seal on Bosch Classixx 6 1200 express?

i have the correct new seal, and removed the door took off the outer wire then tried to pull out the seal, which seem to be held on the (inside) by what looks like a large white circular plastic retainer.! how do i get this off to realise the rest of the seal. ? many thanks for any sensible answers.
