tiny chip on plate glass table top?

Just made a tiny chip on the plate class table top in my dining room. A crystal from the chandelier fell when I was cleaning it and hit the table point on--crystal didn't break but there is now a tiny chip on the table top. I realize that I am probably the only person who will really notice it--but I will (and the top would cost several hundred $$$ to replace!!!). Is there anything that would repair it. Buffing it would probably make it more noticeable. Would the repair kits used to fix a chipped windshield work?
