i would tell them to get a move on and do the clutch or you will be calling in trading standards, as for the rust on the brakes, was the car bought from new, or was it 2nd hand, because a new car should not have any rust on it. sounds a bit like the salesman was selling you the "turkey of the week", bet he had a good laugh with his fellow salesmen, and a pat on the back from the boss.
