Help, I purchased a woodtop kitchen table, I have put a plastic covering between it and my tablecloth and now I have opaque "wrinkle" marks on my table top from the plastic.
I have also cooled cookies on paper towels on the table and it has left "cookie rings".
I have tried lemon oil and polish but the marks are still visible. Is there any fix without sanding down the table and refinishing it?
Sand it down and oil it - My simple pine kitchen table suffers the odd cigarette burn mark - perhaps twice a year it gets a good sanding and a dressing with teak oil - looks much better than varnish - and as you keep it covered most of the time you might consider a nice piece of baize or just an old blanket under the tablecloth for protection.
