My Orange engine light is lit up on my Vectra?

The orange light with a pic of an engine is lit up on my vectra? The manual suggests emmissions, is there anything I might be able to have a look at before paying £80 for a diagnostic test?

went the engine gets hot swich off and went it get cold there is not probleme to start

to put the car on the computer is £20 and the problem will be air flow metre or vacume pumps, the main 1 to check is the 1 on front of engine, under plastic engine cover
