Help with Seamstress De Luxe Foot Pedal?

Hi All, we have acquired an old seamstress auto zigzag deluxe type 132 machine. Don't know anything about the machine (maker, country etc).

Tested the machine - it seemed OK. Put it away for a few days and now it won't work. There are two seperate leads to the machine one for power and one for the foot pedal.

When plugged in there are two switches on the side, one for the light and one for power to the machine.

I have tested the power to the lead and plug they are OK but when the foot pedal is pressed nothing happens. The power to the pedal is 110v, at the machine the power is 220v.

Can anyone help please?

Hi Ken thanks for the info, the machine is 220/40v the 110v is at the foot pedal so i took the foot pedal off its lead and put a tester on the lead it was 220/40v i then put the foot pedal back on its lead and tested it again it was 110v

help

Hello Stan,
You can't have 110v going into one part of the machine and 220/240v into another part, if you are getting readings like that you will have a serious electrical fault, the Seamstress is probably made in Taiwan but if it is about 30 years old or more then it may have been made in Japan.
