Mend Renault 1995 Espace Starting Lights Turn

Problem starting on 1995 Renault Espace ?

Hi sometimes when I try to start my 1995 Renault Espace it won't start! The lights come on but when I turn the key there is nothing! Its got a brand new battery! Other times it starts fine! Does anyone know what the ptoblem is? Is it the starter motor?
