I don't know if any one can help but I recently bought a JCB 3CX 2005 model Contarctor. Worked well with me for a few times. Put an operator on it for two days and it would not shift from 2nd to 3rd neither 4th. The third takes a few second to come in and everything is normal while roading. But if I stop and shift to 1st or 2nd it will take a while to go into 3rd and 4th. Changed the oil and filter and cleaned screen at the cork but no difference, this only happens when the oil is warm. When the gear is changed the transmission makes a humming noise in both 3rd and 4th but 1 and 2 works always.
Hi there, I've also got a JCB 3CX SiteMaster 2007 that I bought from Greenshields JCB 2nd Hand. I've had to replacethe ECU once (circa £2100) and now its broken in less than 1 year.
How do I go about changing the ECU it to relay?

first you have not said if it is powershift or powershuttle but assuming it is a powershift then check if your box has an ecu controlling it, if so be aware that they gave a lot of bother so much so that jcb have discarded them and replaced them with a relay system. they were also fitted in loadalls etc. any decent repair man should be well capable of setting up a relay control of your powershift and that will be the end of your problems. thats what i have done to several of them.
