i cannot get my oven clock on to manual ?

my oven clock is set on auto and i cannot get in on to manual. my oven doesnt work because the clock will not stay on manual
i've swithed it off at the mains and when i switch it back on the clock flashes with the auto singnal on. i press the manual button straigtaway but is still wont go on to manual..the make of my oven is diplomat 620. please help me as i live on my own and cannot afford to pay for an electician to fix the oven
