Mend Citroën Xsara HDI Starting Car Fine Started

xsara hdi has intermitant starting problem?

the car runs fine when started but sometimes wont fire up.AA think its the low pressure fuel pump but could it be the fuel pump regulator?Theres 2 large cable sockets behind the battery and when i unscrew them & screw them back up it fires up.Has anyone got any ideas?
