Sony Ericsson Z520A white lines in the screen?

i had the same problem but with a sony ericsson w580i ive had it for 2 years
Tip: never swing your phone around i was swinging it clockwise on its charger :( now i have a blackberry lool

I bought 3 flex cables for this phone over ebay for when I had not white lines of death, but a white screen of death (and later blank screen of death).. so when I replaced the flex cable i had NO problems with the phone after. However, now after dropping it, I have the top half of LCD full of white lines, a problem not uncommon here I would say. I tried replacing the flex cable with the other 2 i bought off ebay, but they actually did NOT work, one flex cable was itself useless as the screen wasn't able to function at ALL with it in, so I changed the flex back to the original one. NOW i am assuming the LCD needs to be replaced.

The flex cable is not that easy to replace just make sure that you dont bend it or let it get creased as that will tear up the cable. z520 guy how do you reset the connections, i still have a few probs with my 2 z520's that i have replace the ribbon on

I've had the same problem with mine since i dropped it too! How do you replace the flex cable? Is it very hard? and how do you reseat the connections? I would love to fix my phone and not have to buy another one. I really like that phone :(

I have the same problem with my phone. Top half has horizontal white lines. I dropped it a short distance as well. Z520 guy please contact me and let me know how to change the flex cable. I would really appreciate it!

This is a problem with the flex cable not the screen!! I had the same problem and got a z520 flex cable off ebay (~5.00) opened my phone and put a new one in. The problem with yours is that the seating may just be out and you will need to reseat the connections. Open the phone first and find out

The screen is useless now. My phone screen is busted too. The answers I got were that you have two options: Get a new screen and replace it, or get a new phone. The one thing about the Sony Ericsson z520a is that it is VERY sensitive. You have to treat it like a baby, or you won't have a functioning phone.
