why is my zafira still smoking?

hi..was proper garage..its been used quite alot since i had it done..the smoke is grey and im using alot of oil, the egr valve has been cleaned and to top it all i jus realised my test is 2weeks overdue and im not sure its going to pasas with the smoke!!My 1st thought was that the seals werent put in properly but the garage i took it to says it definately wont be the seals and that its the pistons but the car never smoked before i tuk it in..

could well be that gaskets and seals or piston rings were not put in correctly when h/gasket done, who did repair? "proper" garage or "backstreet" as I have done many a h/gasket change and only had a bit of smoke from cars, normally gone within a couple of days, depending on car use. if you belong to motoring ass. (aa, rac etc) get them to give car the once over.

is it blue/black/white smoke,have to be more specific,you could try and clean the EGR valve for starters
