How easy it to change the Cat on a 2001 Saxo 1.4i Furio?

I have a faulty Cat on my Saxo 1.4i Furio and haven't really got the money to let the garage do it. I can get the part, but really need to know how easy it is to change it by myself? Can I change it by jacking the car up or do I need to get it up on the ramp? I've been told that the bolts on the manifold are really difficult to undo?
Any help would be really appreciated?????

the easiest way is with a ratchet with a long extension bar (or a few added together) so you can undo the nuts from the manifold-downpipe. if not then a spanner that you can cut shorter if required. undoing the other end of the cat is easy, but the car does need to be up off the ground for easy access and to remove the old cat, but use axle stands or car ramps!!!! dont use the standard car jack! you will also need new gaskets for both ends of the exhaust. my advice really would be to find a small local exhaust specailist. much cheaper than the likes of quickfit. Also make sure your saxo 1.4 does have the cat on the downpipe some have them on the centre section.

you can do it yourself, would recommend you jack car up onto axle stands for safety's sake, the manifold bolts can be a bit of a problem, due to the heat generated they go very hard, i take my car for a run to warm them up, and very carefully undo them, others might spray wd40 onto bolts first when cold so the choice is yours. just take your time on them.

hope it helps
