Wessex Liftboy LB1 opens but will not close?

I had a similar fault and it turned out to be the switch at the door end.There are two travel limit switches to cut off the power when the opening and closing nears completion. Switch off the supplies, and with a fluke/multimeter check whether the switch is in the open or closed position. With the door disconnected from the drive rod, switch supply back on and see whether the opener works.More likely it will only open . Mark the location of the switch position before dismantling so that you know where to refit.I found the swich was not functioning. This can be repaired. I had to straighten the switch and it worked.
