how can i install a push button directly to the starter?

i need to know how to install a push button directly to the starter..when i did it i couldnt get the button to work,what did i do wrong

you cannot put a button straight to the starter motor as the amperage that goes through it will melt the button!you need to use a starter relay its really very easy to wire up.
