When useing the AC on my Vectra 1.8 W rg 2000 the AC light comes on but does not chill the air. Does not feel like the system starts as revs dont drop when switches on.
I have just had the condenser pipes replaced on my 1999 1.8 Vectra. It had leaked out the recharge within 4 weeks of it being done. The garage told me the pipes corroding and then leaking is a common fault on the Vectra.
Cost £220 for pipes, labour and re gas including VAT.
Good luck.

You will need to get it re-gassed, if there is a problem with that like a leak then they will highlight that fact. After re-gassing and the AC still dosent work then either the pump or the conderser has gone down. The garage that does the re-gassing might be able to tell you what the problem is by looking at it or it could be down to the car needing re-gassing. AC systems should be re-gassed once a yesr.
