Mend Renault Megane Scenic 04

renault scenic ?

i have an 04 megane scenic and i have two problems, and dont know if they are related. firstly every now and then it makes a sort of crunching sound when i start it up and secondly it sometimes cuts out while im driving. can anyone help please?

Renault Renault Megane Scenic Vehicles, Cars Renault Scenic 04

Sounds like the dephaser pulley if it's a 16V petrol engine - the 1.6 is the common favourite for this very common problem. The pulley costs about £130 GBP and the cambelt will also need to be replaced - about a 4 hour job in total.
