Goodmans XPRO TV on Standby?

Hi , i have a goodmans xpro TV and are unable to switch on as it is always on standby. I have just purchased a universal remote but i am unable to do anything until the TV is on. Does anyone have a similar problem or a quick fix to get the TV out of standby.
