how to fix my corsa?

i have a t reg corsa 1.2 16 valve and when i`m going down the road the engine light comes on and the car slows right down so i take my foot off and the engine light goes out and i can start again any ideas on what could be up with it

air flow sensors are bad for causing the type of fault you are describing on these,you can go to a scrappy or a motor factors, main dealer is more expensive,last time from a factors was about £85 but shop around,may be worthwhile getting a code reader onto it before you commit
