Washing machine drainage?

With out going in to a boring story on access to grey water drain.
Is there any problem draining a washing machine into the nearby soakaway drain pipe? IE: would this eventually cause a block up of the soakaway?
Yes our S/W drains are fed to soakaways shown on bungalow plans [1976]
