How do you get the rear caliper piston to rettract so that you have enough room to fit the new pads? 1997 2.0 ltr SE

on callipers that incoperate handbrake mechanism the piston has to be wound back- usually with a special tool-but can sometimes be wound back using long nosed pliers or grips[not sure which way to turn but try pushing piston in whilst turning]
