Mend Nissan Micra Twister Gear Sound Ideas

my gear box makes a klanging sound any ideas?

My 1997 Nissan Micra Twister is making a klanking sound from under the car when changing gears, is my gear box going or is it something to do with the linkages? its a hollow sound and can be heard when wiggling the gear lever from side to side. Car bites well and still pulls away fine. Any ideas?

Hello sounds like maybe the heat shield has come loose under the car so the gear linkage is hitting it when it,s moved.
