ford galaxy air con fault?

Hi, I have a 2005 galaxy with a fault on the aircon. Swich lights, system is fully charged but no cold air. Garage has checked compressor to find will only work when a separate 12v supply is put onto it. They suspect an electrical fault somewhere along the line but cannot trace it.

Any suggestions?
