problem locking berlingo van 1.9D boot door?

I cant lock van boot door with van key it will lock other doors manually the plip doestnt work changed battery too it goes through the motions of locking and opening again but wont lock , i thought it was a worn motor or some other prob but just wondering what to do , thanks for taking the time to read this.
