starting cord?

my mountfield ls45 starting cord will not retract fully there is around 2 foot still hanging out, the spring and everything else seems fine but it will not rewind thelast 2 feet.is there anything i can do apart from buying another starting unit.

If as you say the spring is ok, just wind the spring up another couple of turns and let it pull the cord onto the pulley
