firsly, take the plug out of the wall socket. On cold and hot water fill machines the cold fill hose is the blue one, yours may be a single one, cold only. The hose is screwed on to a small plastic box called a solenoid which has a couple of wires leading to it.If your machine has two hoses, red and blue, the solenoid on the red hose will be the same as the blue one so try swaping them over, the chances of both of them being faulty is remote. If you just have the single cold fill hose machine try getting a solenod off a scrap machine, you can usually get one from your local waste site.To actually check the solenoid you would have to have it connected to an electrical supply to see if the valve was opening and closing--not for the ameteur. If you do swap the solenoidsover or find a replacement one and the machine still does not fill it may be the pressure valve not clicking on and off. This is a round plastic box about 4 inches diameter which has a thin rubber tube leading to it,this senses when the drum has or hasnt water in it---if it isnt working the the machine will not fill or spin because it is getting the wrong signal from this valve, here again try getting one from a scrap machine.
Good luck,
