F&P Smart Drive Excellence GW709 not emptying/spinning?

F&P Smart Drive Excellence GW709 washing machine intermittent, though becoming more regular, problem. Goes through wash cycle (rinse & agitate seem OK), but does not pump out water, though sometimes there is a couple of good surges of water come out. Moves onto spin mode (with water still in), but makes only some 'whir' noises in 5 sequences of 10 each before the machine 'clicks' off all power (all lights off), but does not beep. It can only be powered up after being unplugged for a few minutes.
Tried so far:
Unplugging and powering back up and putting it back to the last stage (light) of the rinse cycle. Also moving forward from the last rinse cycle to the spin cycle.
