yes, but you will have to go inside the unit. Make sure all power is removed from the unit for 5 minutes before proceeding. Remove the screws on the bottom of the unit. Remove two silver screws on back of the unit. Now lift off the bottom of the device, the circuit board and everything else will stay in the top assembly, just the bottom cover with the back will come off. Now you will see the printed circuit board. Place the unit with the circuit board up and the DVD mechanism to the top right. Find the largest black "chip" on the circuit board, it may have a white or orange sticker on it. From this chip, go directly to the right and this is the slot for the ribbon cable. Place one end of the cable in this slot, with the writing on the cable and away from you. Now the other slot is on the laser mechanism. Lay the cable flat and let it lay straight out from the first slot. The cable will lay right across the DVD motor, and then the laser. If you look on the side of the laser mechanism you sill see another cream colored slot, and thats where the other end of the cable goes. Insert it without twisting the cable at all. The cable will have to curve around the corner to insert it. Now reasseble the device carefully. Hope this helps.
