vacuum needs to regain suction? Canavac central vacuum, M-511 S-23567389?

My vacuum sucked up a cat toy past the hose into piping. I used a hand held vacuum to retrieve this item at the vacuum hose inlet as it was not in the canister where the dirt collects. After doing so I tried to continue to vacuum but there is little to no suction on the hose or hard piping. What do I do to regain suction back?Please help????
