How can I replace the diaphragm on a Jetflow syphon?

Having removed the syphon and finding the diaphragm damaged I could not fit a replacement item since removal of a light green coloured plastic 'housing' proved to be impossible. Replacement diaphragm cost pence but needed to purchase a complete syphon costing £10

Can any one advise me if the diaphragm can indeed be replaced on a Jetflow cistern without the need to replace the complete syphon

Thanks

I have a jetflow syphon and the diaphragm was in tatters. About £2.50 for 2 replacements on ebay. It looked impossible to take apart but, as it was no good anyway I decided to try. I ran the holder and rod under a hot tap for a few minutes and then put it over a suitably gapped vice. Holding it firmly with a bit of downward pressure, I gave it a sharpish tap with a small hammer and it came apart lovely.

Many thanks Steve ! You have helped me out with the screwdriver tip.
My lav is flushing like an old pro again. Merry Christmas!

I realise its a bit of a late answer but I've just experienced EXACTLY the same problem. Tried prising open the green housing to slip the pull rod through but it was impossible to do. The housing doesn't seem to just "slip" over the end of the rod. There seems more to it. Better to but a new, slimline syphon equivilent. Only good thing about the Jetflow syphon is how small it is.

Using a screwdriver make the hole on the housing slightly bigger to allow it to come over the retaining section on the stem. If you do it just enough, it will click back in place, but the spring will also hold it in place.
Then either cut out a shop bought diaphragm, or thick grade plastic liner. I have used the liner with no problem.
