Portable DVD Player by Carketplace bought on Amazon?

Had this a few days. Cannot get the LCD screen resolution to 16.9 without using Zoon on the converter yet should be able to do this with DVD face controls and not have to use converter for anything. Says it's Multi Region Free. Most of my DVD's are i.e. Yoga studies whereby you choose the instruction you want for the day and it has Matrix technology whereby you can click each section to make up your own class for one hour or whatever time you want. None of this appears with this DVD player. It goes straight in without any Intro or Menu coming up so I have no control over what it's playing and cannot see the name of any of the exercises. My DVDs worked perfectly on my old Portable DVD and on my laptop. Another of the DVDs comes out with the background music, the picture but no instruction voice from the teacher. Obviously they are now impossible to work with as the function and options are not available to me. I think I have bought a lemon. Can anybody please help.
