Aquarius 100 - WD61 - Leak from washing tray?

At the beginning of the wash cycle as water is pouring in to the detergent tray, water is being forced back out under the tray. I have already removed the tray and cleaned away all visible sludge and thought this would fix it.

However, the leak has returned and poured down the front of machine and created some sparks with electrics.

Is there any other way of cleaning behind the tray area as sludge may be lodged out of my sight where the water would normally flow.

Any advice please?
