how can i fix the lock in my upvc door?

THe door lock mechanism in my newish UPVC door fails to operated in hot weather. the handle movement is restricted and key will not turn to operate lock

Sounds like your door handle and lock need lubricating. When they fit these things they very rarely clean away burrs and such crap and this stuff just gets into the workings. Strip it down and spray come lubricant on all the sliding/turning surfaces, this should release the crap that is causing the problem

you could try wd40 spray oil in the lock, its the hot weather sunshine, makeing the metal in the lock expand, you could try hanging something over the lock from the handel, to keep the mid day sun off it ,
