tarmac?

Is it sinking 9" down or is that the width? If it's sinking only slightly, then your thickness wouldn't be sufficient to bond and it will start to lift, as in the case of a Bodgit and Scarper job. You need at least 2" thickness and it needs to butt-up to a firm edge and then rolled.

Just what I've had. 'Sor we're in dee ariya [strangely not close enought to check] laying a driveway and we have dis lot left over, jey want der frontage tarmaced'.
No f.... off if I did I wouldn't have laid crazy paving dick brain.'. My carav an was also on the front and I quicklly put it on stands locking the wheels in the garage. Sure enough that night skid marks showed they tried nicking it but then rellised no wheels. ehem! would be the same lot would they?.

Wait if as Homer says you can expect a lot more and watch for the daffodile coming up through the tarmac next spring.

it must be a small drive 9" by 12ft it just the edge dummy what i did myself, still i will ask again some one in the know may answer

I wonder if it went like this. " We've just finished a job and we've got some tarmac left over, would you like your driveway done cheaply". You could try to get in touch with Bodgit and Scarper who laid it for you, but I suspect it may have been a cheap "cash in hand" job' and they are long gone. Motto is "You get what you pay for"! Wasn't as cheap as you thought, was it? One born every minute.
