mixer cuts out?

OK team Ive just come off the phone from Belle they said check the cooler fan and blades,the thermal cut out seems to be working so that leaves the motor to which I said if I need to get a motor and its still a maybe on the motor then I might just as well keep my finger on the button and buy a new motor later to which Belle said well sir we have never had a motor catch light but I cant recomend you hold the button
(any ideas people)

So the motor is being stressed - gets hot and quite probably a thermal, safety-overload switch is operating.

The motor will be getting stressed and hot because...

System bearings tight
Mixing bucket overloaded
Insufficient cooling
Defective motor / motor brushes

I am not an expert in mixers - I just guess at a distance.

Quite why the shop people suggested a new switch and lead I don't know - they were obviously guessing too.
