shaft kit removal?

i would like remove my existing shaft to replace with a new one but the old one is fixed with rivets whereas the new part has various holes around but only 3 main scews supplied any suggestions on the best way to remove old rivets and if so replace new plate/shaft also with rivets or just 3 screws
