Help?

Hi, I wonder if any one can help? I've just aqcuired a JCB 3C Mark 2 & need all the help i can get. At the moment i'm struggling with the ignition, when in the OFF position i get a dim red light on the panel, when in the ON position the volt Guage wakes up & the temp guage goes all the way to red, & when i turn the key to start it the ignition light goes out. Can anyone help please? Thanks. Dom.
