Samsung E700?

I had the same problem but got it fixed. I may have just been lucky but I tried putting a pin into the small orifice just below the # key. Something clicked and now the phone is working normally. The only problem is though, that now I think this has knackered the microphone as you can barely her me when i am talking on the phone. It's worth a try if you don't make many calls

sounds like one of the side keys is jammed
