Auto electrical?

Hello .My problem is my luggage compartment pops open at certain times ,sometimes when i release the handbrake sometimes when I turn the lights off ,it has also blown the 7.5 fuse for the number plate lights on a few occassions ,electrical maybe?.any ideas anybody ,please. Thanks.
