Our Dyson DC08 has failed. The squat model with a large wheel either side. Can't get it apart. How do the wheels come off ? I'm sure the fixings are hidden under the wheels. Only two other torqs screws found and they seem to release part of the body halves.. Thanks Mike.
Just had a similar problem where there was no power, checked fuse ok.Turned out to be a faulty plug in the end. Thanks to the previous guys for their assistance as I couldn't have got it apart to fault find in the first place.

i have a problem with my dc08, it's making a funny noise whilst running, plus there is a burning smell!!
Would it be that the motor needs replacing??

the 2 wheels pull off to reveal 4 torx screws undo them and the hover comes apart.you can get at everthing.you dont state what the problem is would it be the pohwer switch wont stay on if it ts simply glue a small piece of plastic on top of the micro switch and put all back together a tip remove the cable rewind button from the inside by holding togher the 2 clips and push it out you can pull it out from the top this allows you to see where the cable retractor button has to line up screw all together and push back in the cable retractor button.clean the 2 filters when you are at it.job done
