Mend Vauxhall Astra Fan Noise Main

vauxhall astra 1997, starting up fan noise?

What is the fan noise when first starting up, it is not the main fan , and then cuts out after a min or two. Thanks

As dave says, just the air pump, which blows air into the exhaust manifold to heat the catalytic converter quicker. Ignore it unless it gets so loud it wakes the neighbours, it's not important and not worth spending money on.
